I am bringing back the A Hole of the Month (ahotm). The first (but I’m sure not last ahotm) is bill strickland. He is a journalist, not a good one but a journalist none the less. His article in this month’s Bicycle magazine is what has earned him the distinction of A Hole of the month.
Though, he has no proof, he claims in his own opinion that Lance Armstrong had to cheat (doping) to be able to win 7 Tours de France. What he offers is his opinion or the opinion of washed up has beens that might be just a wee bit jealous.
I’don’t know if LA doped, but we should not print our opinions in a national magazine as if they were fact until we and especially journalists have all the facts.
bill, enjoy your award, fortunately for you, it only lasts a month.
What has me ranting today is the poor poor managing today of Boston RED SOX manager Terry Francona. The RED SOX have 3 bonafide” shut the door” closers and yet he totally mismanaged the bullpen today. Tie game in the bottom of the 8th (after big papi tied it) and TF brings in Bard, the hardest thrower on the team. Anyone can have a bad day or outing but you pull them and move on. Not only does he let Bard give up 4 runs but he allows him to throw over 30 pitches, which will prevent him from pitching in the rest of the Texas series.
You’re a major league manager, you don’t know or can’t see that one of your big league arms doesn’t have it today??
I, along with every other RED SOX fan used to think that TF walked on water after guiding the Sox to 2 World Series titles in 4 years, but the man has lost whatever skill he once had. His terrible management of the Bullpen and the Pitching staff in general cost the Sox the Division crown last year.
We RED SOX fans are pretty intelligent baseball fans and we certainly know when someone stinks. I think a change needs to made now before the season gets completely lost.
“Cycling Body Challenges Ruling That Cleared Champion Contador of Doping”.
I would say its about time. Spanish national here getting cleared to race by a “Spanish” federation. Fair should be fair. Contador did test positive. As a lot of governing bodies have said in the past, the Professional cyclists are responsible for what they put in their bodies. You are Contador and you let someone bring beef from Spain to prepare a special meal for you during the most important cycling race of the year. Tour de France! Where cyclists are tested more then anywhere on the planet. Bringing beef from Spain. REALLY!! Is he above sound thinking and maybe common sense. I think not.
Again, fair is fair. He should be suspended just like everyone else that’s tested positive, though some are more flagrant then this case but rules are rules.
I guess there is Karma in professional cycling. See you in 2 years AC ( couldn’t happen to a nicer guy).
